Ready for Kindergarten
Advanced preparation for children ages 4 to 5, building confidence for the next step.
A Confident Start
Our Pre-K program is designed to provide children with the knowledge, confidence, and independence they need to make a successful transition to kindergarten. While academic readiness is an important part of our program, we believe that true kindergarten readiness also includes strong social skills, emotional development, problem-solving abilities and a love of learning.
Our curriculum builds upon the foundation established in our younger classrooms by introducing more advanced concepts in literacy, mathematics, science and critical thinking. Through hands-on, play-based learning experiences, children strengthen early reading and writing skills, develop number sense, expand their vocabulary and learn to express their ideas with confidence.
Our teachers create engaging learning opportunities that encourage children to think independently, ask questions, make discoveries and work collaboratively with their peers. Daily activities include small-group instruction, independent learning centers, creative projects, STEM exploration, dramatic play, music, movement and outdoor learning experiences.
One of our primary goals is to help children develop the independence and self-confidence they’ll need as they enter elementary school. Children are encouraged to follow routines, complete tasks, make choices, solve problems and take responsibility for their learning. These experiences help create confident, capable learners who are prepared for the increased expectations of kindergarten.
Social and emotional development remains a central focus of our Pre-K program. Children continue to strengthen important life skills such as communication, cooperation, emotional regulation, leadership and conflict resolution while building meaningful friendships and learning how to become positive members of a classroom community.
At Alphabet Academy, we believe that kindergarten readiness isn’t measured solely by academic achievement. It’s measured by a child’s ability to think critically, communicate effectively, adapt to new situations and approach learning with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Our Pre-K program provides the tools, experiences and support children need to enter kindergarten feeling confident, prepared and excited for the next stage of their educational journey.
