Our Story

How It Started

Alphabet Academy began in 2014 as a small, in-home childcare program built on one simple belief: children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore the world around them.

Our founder, Krissie, always knew that caring for children would be an important part of her journey while raising her own family. What started as a way to combine motherhood with a passion for early childhood education quickly grew into something much bigger.

For more than five years, our in-home programs focused on providing child-centered care, meaningful learning experiences, and strong relationships with children and their families. As more families discovered our approach, demand continued to grow, eventually leading to the expansion of three separate in-home childcare locations.

With that growth came a new vision: to create a childcare center that would preserve the warmth and individualized attention of a family-based program while expanding opportunities for even more children.

That vision led to the creation of our newly renovated facility in Fishers. By bringing our programs together under one roof, we were able to expand our classrooms, enhance our learning environments, create beautiful outdoor spaces, create jobs within our community, and provide exceptional care to even more children and families.

Today, we’re growing again with the expansion of our west-side Fishers location. While our facilities continue to evolve, our mission remains unchanged: to create a place where children feel safe, families feel supported, and meaningful relationships flourish.

One of the things that makes us most proud is seeing the connections that continue long after children leave our classrooms. Families who first met at Alphabet Academy still gather together years later, even after their children have moved on to elementary school. Those lasting friendships remind us that we’ve built something much greater than a daycare.

We’ve created a community!

What We Believe

We believe early childhood education is about more than academics. It’s about building the social, emotional, and cognitive foundations that set children up for a lifetime of learning. Every decision we make from our teacher-to-child ratios to our daily routines starts with one question: what does this child need right now?

Small Groups

Intentionally low ratios so every child gets individual attention throughout the day.

Consistent Teachers

Our teachers stay in their classrooms long-term, building deep relationships with the children and families they serve.

Play-Based Learning

Hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities that make learning joyful and meaningful.

More Than a Daycare — A Community

More than a decade after opening our doors, we remain committed to the values that inspired us from the very beginning: nurturing curiosity, encouraging creativity, building confidence, and creating an environment where every child can learn, laugh, play, and grow.

Because at Alphabet Academy, we’re not just preparing children for kindergarten. We’re helping them build the foundation for a lifetime of learning and belonging.

What Families Are Saying

We appreciate everything that you’ve done for K. He started off as an angry and confused little guy and did not know what it was like to be a friend or participate with a class. He has never been rushed, and you have always met him where he was at that time. We have watched our wary and hesitant boy slowly join in on class dance parties, make a few best friends and grow into that silly personality that we never expected from him.

Our son loves going to Alphabet Academy! All of his teachers have been so caring and attentive. The director and staff do a great job communicating with parents and sharing what our son does throughout the day. We’ve had a great experience and recommend Alphabet Academy for daycare and preschool!

So glad my friend told me about this school! My toddler loves her teachers and classmates. My kid now talks about going to her preschool class every morning, what classmates she’ll see and activities she will do. As a parent I love to see the healthy snacks and lunches they provide. My 5 month old joins her older sister there, developing and hitting her milestones with the help of the infant room teachers.

My son has been going to the daycare since he was six weeks old. He is now three and I absolutely love the daycare. Everyone has always been so helpful with numerous things involving my child. The staff is so friendly and helpful and I feel like it’s a family there. I recommend this daycare for sure!

I’ve had my kids there for 4+ years and watching them grow has been great. The teachers care so much for each, individual child like they’re their own!
